Terms of service

Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) apply to all custom curtain and blind orders. By placing an order and/or making payment, the Client acknowledges and agrees to the following:

Payment Terms

  • A measurement deposit is payable prior to site measurement. This amount is non-refundable but will be deducted from the final order total.
  • After measurement, Novafab will provide a quotation based on the actual window dimensions.
  • To confirm the order, the Client must pay a 50% deposit (excluding the measurement deposit). Production will not commence until this payment has been received in full.
  • The remaining balance must be paid in full prior to installation. Installation will not be scheduled or carried out unless the account has been settled in full.

Warranty

  • All curtains and sheer fabrics are covered by a 5-year warranty.
  • All roller blind fabrics are covered by a 5-year warranty.
  • All shutters are provided with a 5-year warranty.
  • All products include a 12-month warranty covering manufacturing and installation faults.
  • The warranty applies exclusively to the original purchaser, and the products must remain installed at the original property.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Misuse, neglect, or accidental damage
  • Damage caused by external or environmental factors beyond Novafab’s control.

Measurements

  • Where curtain height complies with the agreed floor clearance at the time of order, a tolerance of ±10mm is considered acceptable. If the Client requests height modification within this tolerance, a fee starting from $20 per metre (curtain width) will apply.
  • Products are manufactured in accordance with the measurements provided by the Client. Novafab accepts no responsibility for errors where measurements are supplied by the Client.
  • Where Novafab conducts the measurement, Novafab will be responsible for sizing deviations.

Installation

  • Face mounting is strongly recommended.
  • Top mounting carries certain unpredictable risks. If the Client insists on top mounting, any related issues will not be covered under warranty.

Custom-Made Orders & Modifications

  • All curtains and blinds are custom-made and cannot be cancelled, exchanged, or returned once production has commenced.
  • Due to the nature of textiles, a size tolerance of 1–5cm is considered acceptable and shall not be deemed a defect.
  • Modification fees will apply if adjustments are required due to:
  • Client-provided measurement errors
  • Structural irregularities (e.g., uneven floors or ceilings) causing the curtain to touch the ground
  • For some buildings, it is recommended that curtains be ordered 2–3cm above floor level to prevent floor contact, as floor levels may not be consistent throughout the property.

Ironing

  • The order price does not include ironing services.
  • Fabrics are factory-ironed before being made into curtains and packed for delivery.
  • Additional ironing or steaming services after delivery will incur extra charges.

Colour Variations

  • Minor colour variations may occur between different dye lots or production batches.
  • Variations of up to 5% are considered acceptable and are not grounds for return, refund, or exchange.

Fabric Characteristics

  • Curtains exceeding 1.4 metres in width may include joints or seams.
  • Patterns and designs will be aligned to the best extent reasonably possible.
  • Differences in fabric texture, weave, or appearance compared to samples, or variations based on personal perception, shall not be considered defects.
  • Memory training may create defined folds or pleats; however, not all fabrics are suitable for this process.
  • Curtains that have undergone memory training may develop crease marks during transportation. It is the Client’s responsibility to iron or steam the curtains after delivery to restore the intended folds.

Cleaning & Care

  • The Client must follow the care instructions provided for each fabric type (including roller blinds, Roman blinds, velvet, flocking, cotton/linen, lace, silk, and polyester).
  • Failure to adhere to the prescribed cleaning methods will result in the warranty being voided.

Non-Quality Issues

  • The following shall not be accepted as grounds for return, refund, or exchange:
  • Colour variations within 5% compared to the sample
  • Fabric texture or appearance differing from expectations
  • Subjective dissatisfaction based on personal perception

Shipping & Transportation

  • Once goods are dispatched, delivery timeframes for air or sea freight depend on freight forwarders and local courier services. Novafab has no control over transit times and shall not be held responsible for shipping delays beyond its control.
